My family also called them 'pineys.' It must have been a local dialect. (I was born in southern Indiana.)

Ann, you are right about the peony's fragrance- no flower has a more wonderful aroma, not even roses.

Lea, thank you. I dug up my mom's peony bush after she died and took it with me when we moved into the country. I haven't been back to the home because I've heard about all the changes and I want to remember the home and landscaping we did in the 27 years we lived there.Nonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08623569563122986528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570907131283600676.post-12333887148813641742016-05-27T21:32:46.442-07:002016-05-27T21:32:46.442-07:00They are such lovely flowers. They are such lovely flowers.Idahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14587867197850064349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570907131283600676.post-67955925077988604452016-05-27T20:30:15.861-07:002016-05-27T20:30:15.861-07:00There is NO other flower fragrance that compares t...There is NO other flower fragrance that compares to the peony.
