12 Days of Mary: Our Lady of Lourdes

Startled and fearful, the girl child views a lady, so stunningly beautiful that Bernadette dare not speak. She kneels and her arm is paralyzed when she attempts to do the Sign of the Cross. Eighteen times in all, Bernadette is blessed with apparitions of Our Lady. Now the girl child's name is known world-wide by believers. When I was confirmed, I took Bernadette's name for my Confirmation name.  I chose it because of her unbroken faith that she saw Our Lady. Even when no one believed her and she was poorly treated by her priest and village, she continued to trust what she had experienced. Such faith is what I strive for daily. Bernadette's story can be read here . View other heart-felt images and stories at Recuerda mi Corazon.

12 Days of Virgin Mary: The Annunciation

"And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Who having heard, was troubled at his saying, and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God. Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever. And of his kingdom there shall be no end. And Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man? And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall

Virgin Mary: Gift from a Friend

When my friend gifted me with this statue of our blessed Virgin Mary, I first thought that her location should be where she would greet my visitors.  After all, she would be the first sighting when each drove up my driveway.  Then I realized that I wanted to see her up close and personal.  So, below is the place where she resides now. Blessed is Mary,  virgin, yet Mother of all who trust in her Son. linked to  http://www.corazon.typepad.com/
