Weekend Reflections: DeFur Voran Building

DeFur Voran building intriguing  tower- shaped windows  seen downtown! DeFur Voran's website identifies its business in this way: When I captured the windows' reflections, I hadn't noticed which business  was located there.  Only after uploading the image to my computer, did I see the sign. The DeFur Voran law offices have been in Muncie for over 100 years. more reflections at James' Weekend Reflections

Signs: Westside Park

For once I am too young (insert grin here) to have experienced the days gone by when Westside Park was an amusement park. However, a postcard of the roller coaster and four other postcards about the park can be viewed on Flickr/hoosier_recollections . White River Greenway , walking trail by White River next to Westside Park . Even though I've walked more than a few times on the trail, I've never taken the time to read these signs. I finally did read them and, as you can see, I captured their information on my camera. Westside Park, in olden times gone by before I was born.

Quotography: Abraham Lincoln

"All that I am, and hope to be, I owe to my angel mother." ~Abraham Lincoln~ I chose this particular quote because recently I have been pondering my spiritual life.  That led to my remembering how my momma handed over her problems to God.  I did not see her openly praying. So I believe that she prayed the way Jesus instructed us, to pray quietly in secrecy.  I took only one photo of the three shown above, the topmost one.  When I was in my early teens, my momma bought a restaurant in which she had been the cook.  She is standing by her car (Pontiac, if I remember accurately) in the back parking lot of her restaurant.  The second image is my mom in early adulthood.  I never saw this photo until long after my mother had died.  The third image was taken by one of the workers on our town's water tower.  In the image, she is being hauled up to see the inside of the tower.  How courageous she must have been.  She was privileged to that...

Weekend Reflections: Table at Puerto Vallarta

My daughter-in-law, her daughter, my cousin and I lunched at Puerto Vallarta after shopping at the various Christmas bazaars.  Very tasty! linked to James' Weekend Reflections   Below is the yellow page ad for the restaurants in Muncie.
