Here are the companions on my late husband's chair waiting for his return. Both Slick  the cockatiel and Dakota the Siamese grieved when my husband died.  Because Slick was allowed out of his cage whenever someone was at home, he walk down the hallway, looking for Charles.  Dakota did the same.  A member of our family who taught science in high school offered to adopt Slick.  He thrived in the classroom because I'd had him in my classroom until I retired just seven months before Charles' death. more Cool Clicks Thursday 'D' for Dakota, dearly departed feline, graceful cat, he's missed. more words at ABC Wednesday more feline images here

Transom shares sunlight where no windows existed and has character! transom viewed in dentist's hallway Below is an explanation of the term 'transom' found on Wikipedia . In  architecture , a  transom  is the term given to a transverse horizontal structural beam or bar, or to the crosspiece separating a door or the like from a window above it, as opposed to a  mullion   which refers to a vertical structural member. [1]  Transom is also the customary  U.S.  word used for a  transom light , the window over this crosspiece. [1] [2]  In  Britain , the 'transom light' above a door is usually referred to as a " fanlight " if a semi-elliptical shape, and occasionally as an "overlight" or "hopper", or by the French word "vasistas". Last Friday night,I sighted this tree on my way home from reading The Polar Express to children.  The tree stands on the corner of our local mission for homeless men.
