Child of my heart's love, Prayers for you, I say daily, seeking protection. The hearts of many were broken yesterday in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. A young man's action, originating from a broken mind and spirit, resulted in 20 children being murdered in the grade school.  I know not what drove him to commit such a horrendous act. I know only that those parents, teachers' relatives and our nation are grieving over yet another senseless act. I'm offering my prayers for God's angels to bring strength from our Holy Mother to that community.

V is for violet I know that 'violet' is a common word that even little ones  know what it means, but I wanted to share all these violet ornaments spotted at Walmart . V is for vermeil. I discovered this 'v' word at my favorite site for building my vocabulary. linked to ABC Wednesday

This is my home altar.  Most of the sacred objects were gifts to me, many from my Catholic first grade students. One exception is the icon at the upper right of the white statue of Mary.  That was a gift from my cousin.  She bought it for me when she went to Alaska from a Russian Orthodox church gift store.  I love that it is unique among my other Mary images.
