Loving Lupita: Virgin of Guadalupe

La Promesa holy card I receive "Saint of the Day"  from Franciscan Media.  Today's featured saint is St. Juan Diego.   Here is then-Pope John Paul's homily on the day of Juan Diego's canonization St. John Paul's Homily for the Canonization of Juan Diego  July 31, 2002 “In accepting the Christian message without forgoing his indigenous identity, Juan Diego discovered the profound truth of the new humanity, in which all are called to be children of God.  Thus he facilitated the fruit meeting of two worlds and became the catalyst for the new Mexican identity, closely united to Our Lady of Guadalupe, whose mestizo face expresses her spiritual motherhood which embraces all Mexicans.  That is why the witness of his life must continue to be the inspiration for the building up of the Mexican nation, encouraging brotherhood among all its children and ever helping to reconcile Mexico with its origins, values and traditions.” joining others at...

Loving Lupita: Mary, Gate of Heaven

image from Photobucket Loving mother of the Redeemer,  gate of heaven, star of the sea,  assist your people who have fallen yet strive to rise again. To the wonderment of nature you bore your Creator,  yet remained a virgin after as before. You who received Gabriel’s joyful greeting,  have pity on us, poor sinners. joining others at the  radiant Rebecca's Loving Lupita

Loving Lupita: Orphanage in Haiti

Our Lady of Perpetual Help   founded by Father Andre St. Mary Parish became acquainted  with Father Andre when he spent a summer at our parish some years ago. He shared his dream to house orphans where he is based.   Thanks to a hard-working and humble lady of our parish  ( I'm not using her name because she is so humble) and  others, that dream is coming true. Our ladies' Bible Study is gathering items to send to the children  and the adult volunteers for Christmas. I know from previous years that  our ladies will be generous. Who wouldn't want to make the eyes of these darling children shine  on Christmas morning? Our Lady of Perpetual Help Joining others for 12 days at the radiant Rebecca's Loving Lupita
