Mornings with Mary: Project Gabriel

Gabriel Project saves babies' lives, mothers' souls a mission for God. For my journal pages, I used the following materials: top half of a reminder to hand  in Gabriel Project cans filled with money  for the Project's needs to help new mothers; (we handed out cans to the parish on Mother's Day and had them brought back on Father's Day- fitting days, don't you think?) scrapbooking stickers; photo of youngest son when he was a toddler; remnants of a graduation announcement envelope; bear from a thank you card; water color wash merrily I make my way to Mornings with Mary

Vintage Weekly # 65: My Grandma & Her Children

Momma, her brothers, her mother and she gathered for fam'ly portrait. By the time  this family portrait was taken, my grandmother was a widow. Most probably her brother-in-law, owner of a photo studio along with his wife, took the picture. I cannot imagine that my grandma could afford such a luxury. gratefully linking to Vintage Weekly #65 thank you, Jane, for hosting this meme!

Father's Day 2013

Happy Father's Day, Dad!  May you be wrapped in the arms of our Savior. I took all three of these photos  in the early 1960s. I inserted the heart with an arrow to signify my broken heart because all three pictured here are gone. At left is my younger brother Charlie, then Daddy  and my Momma.  This one photo was taken in my hubby's and my home. The other two were taken in my parents' home. Pictured with Daddy is Little Bit. A warm memory I cherish is of my Momma calling me after my three babies (aged 1, 2 & 3) were asleep.  She told me to bring them over so that they could witness Little Bit's babies being born. So I wrapped them up, and off we went!  Here with Daddy are his older  brother Elbert and younger brother George.
