Nonnie's Photo A Day: Candle Shadow

Soft glowing candle Bringing ambience to prayers, Sparking memories My cousin, who was more like  a sister, bought this candle holder for me when she went to Alaska at a Russian Orthodox gift shop. She also got me an icon of Mary, unlike any other image  I have of the blessed Mother. So every prayer time I see this candle holder  and the Mary icon,  hanging close by,  memories are sparked, thus drawing  her near to me.  I miss her so much. my cousin Rosemary Hoosier Quote: “If you want to know me, my books are the best way,  for…they furnish a better biography than I can write.” ~Gene Stratton-Porter~ sharing my shadow with Shadow Shot Sunday 2 hosts: Gemma Wiseman  Chubskulit Rose  Magical Mystical Teacher

Nonnie's Photo A Day: Nostalgia Collage

NOSTALGIA… Sweet Pea, Hotel Taft, Dallas mural, eggs & grandfather’s home I remember the sweet, soft smell of Sweet pea talcum powder.   I picture the apartment bathroom where the talc sat near the tub. The building’s mural was admired As my husband and I walked around  my uncle’s Dallas neighborhood. Our high school senior class stayed  in the Hotel Taft during our senior trip to New York and  Washington D.C. The home pictured here is the way the home looked  when  my great-grandfather was still alive. The easter eggs-  this was the last time  my youngest granddaughter dyed eggs with me.  She considers herself too old to do it now.
