At James' Weekend Reflections: Day of the Dead

linking to James' Weekend Reflections Yes, I know that Halloween is past, but today is All Souls Day or as Mexico titles it- Dia de los Muertos . So I feel that it is suitable. Yesterday was All Saints Day in the Catholic faith.  Father gave us a little history about this holy day- Each time there was a martyr for his/her faith, a day was memorialized for that person.  Through the years, there were more martyrs than days in a year.  Thus, All Saints Day was formed. I like the idea of honoring the dead the way the faithful do in Mexico. Years ago, a student's parent, originally from Mexico, celebrated Day of the Dead with my class. It impacted my first graders and me. This is a file from the   Wikimedia Commons . Information from its  description page there  is shown below.   Commons is a freely licensed media file repository. Halloween Pics

Just sharing a few photos from today and this evening. This photo and the one below were taken at Party Wizards . Charley got this costume for $3 today, and it kept Myah warm.  It's so fitting a costume because Myah loves the kitties in our family. The end of her day and she's tired...time to go home and to bed.   tired indeed, poor baby

an apt bookmark if one is a Dr. Seuss fan...and I am! I'm sure that many readers know that Dr. Seuss is the pen name of Theodor Seuss Geisel.  “A person’s a person no matter how small.” ~Dr. Seuss~ Other Dr. Seuss quotes link to Quotography . I love the special and fun fonts PicMonkey has for Halloween. My dumpling Myah is talking into the TV remote, thinking that it is a cell phone. She associates buttons and a screen with cell phones.  She brings sunlight into my little corner of this world with her special way of seeing life.
