Nonnie's Observations

  The beans seen above and layered on my salad below are grown by my granddaughter Candice.  The name of the beans is Tanya's Pink Pods. All veggies on her Earth Candy Acres farm are organically grown. The beans are delicious and tender, making a grand addition to my salad. Topping the veggies are dried cranberries, adding a bit of sweetness.

The gorgeous roses are from my thoughtful granddaughter Charley Marie.  She remembered that her poppy (Charles) gave me flowers to celebrate our anniversary. She had called me on the tenth and then she called me today to come pick up my ’prise (surprise).   Charles and I walked down the aisle In 1958. 

THE DOWNTOWN FARM STAND locally grown, organic… freshly picked produce Granddaughter brought in their (her and hubby's) organically-grown squashes.  You can learn more about what else they grow...  here . The Farm Stand also carries organic groceries, drinks  and other food items.

Normally, the photos I use are my own,  but this time, I am using photos that were taken  by oldest granddaughter's sister. I was not there, it involved a skiing trip-  definitely NOT my cup of tea! And… a grandmother would not have fit  into the soon-to-be fiancé’s plan. mommy, all ready for the birth of her daughter move things along, dear! Daddy and big sister also waiting is there room for me? "I've missed you, Mommy!" tick, tick, tick waiting for our girl hurry up! Doctor reserved room for Wednesday evening to begin the process. Literally, Granddaughter was told "no room at the inn." (labor area) All day Thursday, same thing. Ball Memorial Hospital labor and delivery section has been very busy welcoming new arrivals. Finally, Granddaughter was told to come in at 8:30 last night.   Inducing labor started at 8 a.m. today. Our little punkin shown above took only 5 or 6 hours from beginning to birth. So...now we wait... anticipating our little girl!

This photo was taken today, August 2. I did not notice the trees reflected here. They look bare. Now I'm curious and I must go back  and check to see if they are dead. I drove Granddaughter to this lot so that she could buy this car. She was so excited!
