Startled and fearful, the girl child views a lady, so stunningly beautiful that Bernadette dare not speak. She kneels and her arm is paralyzed when she attempts to do the Sign of the Cross. Eighteen times in all, Bernadette is blessed with apparitions of Our Lady. Now the girl child's name is known world-wide by believers. When I was confirmed, I took Bernadette's name for my Confirmation name. I chose it because of her unbroken faith that she saw Our Lady. Even when no one believed her and she was poorly treated by her priest and village, she continued to trust what she had experienced. Such faith is what I strive for daily. Bernadette's story can be read here. View other heart-felt images and stories at Recuerda mi Corazon. |
