Quotography: Abraham Lincoln

"All that I am, and hope to be, I owe to my angel mother."
~Abraham Lincoln~

I chose this particular quote because recently I have been pondering my spiritual life.  That led to my remembering how my momma handed over her problems to God.  I did not see her openly praying. So I believe that she prayed the way Jesus instructed us, to pray quietly in secrecy.  I took only one photo of the three shown above, the topmost one.  When I was in my early teens, my momma bought a restaurant in which she had been the cook.  She is standing by her car (Pontiac, if I remember accurately) in the back parking lot of her restaurant.  The second image is my mom in early adulthood.  I never saw this photo until long after my mother had died.  The third image was taken by one of the workers on our town's water tower.  In the image, she is being hauled up to see the inside of the tower.  How courageous she must have been.  She was privileged to that ride because all the builders were patrons of my mom's restaurant.  I arranged all the  images of my mom and the crew in a shadow box to keep the photo memories intact.
The tower was built in 1954.
The crew ate most of their meals in my momma's restaurant. It was called Junior's Family Room.  I do not know who nicknamed my mom Junior, but it stayed with her even after she sold the restaurant.

This is inside the tower.

I'm fairly certain that Momma had the cake made by the Redkey bakery from whom she bought all bread supplies.  The birthday "boy's" name was Doc.

Here is my shadow box with the door open so there is no glare.

At the bottom are the signatures of the entire crew who built the water tower.
I do remember sharing this photo in 2011 on Al's Sunday Scans, but not the rest of the photos.

What a lovely tribute to your mom. I love seeing photos from yesteryear. I think we all ponder our spiritual lives at some point. I wish you a successful journey with yours!

Pondering about My Blog

I've been through quite a bit these past months that I haven't posted.  First, packing and moving and then unpacking . The first step of unpacking was my taking down boxes that were five and six boxes high.  About two weeks after I’d moved and was in the midst of unpacking, I developed horrendous pain in my ribs. I slathered on my gel I use to alleviate Fibromyalgia pain. Realizing that even that was not helping. Trying to make a long story short- Asked for pain pills No help; asked for another kind Doctor wanted to see me Went in- he didn’t understand why I was still in pain Sent me to get x-rays Diagnosis: compressed fracture in my 9th vertebra Cause: osteporosis Now on meds for that I’ve discovered that anytime I overdo, pain comes back, not quite full-blown, but enough that I must stop doing whatever I’m doing. That includes sitting at my computer writing. I wanted to bring my friends up-to-date; I’m pondering whether I should stop blogging altogether o
