hymn: "O Saving Host" or "O Salutaris Hostia"

O saving Victim, opening wide,
The gate of heaven to man below!
Our foes press on from every side;
Thine aid supply, thy strength bestow.

To Thy great name by endless praise,
Immortal Godhead, one in Three;
Oh, grant us endless length of days,
In our true native land with Thee. Amen

A number of years ago, my husband and I were in Cinque Terra Italy on the feast of Corpus Christi. Mass was really special there - I'll never forget it. No vehicular traffic is allowed in these five villages. The sidewalks were covered in flower petals in fantastic designs. The priest and acolytes processed outside - it was magical.

indeed, it sounds magical! did you photograph any of it? I can imagine the devotion one must have to do those floral designs.
