A Virgin A Day: The Immaculate Conception

SUB TUUM PRAESIDIUM
WE FLY TO THY PROTECTION

We fly to thy protection,
O holy Mother of God;
despise not our petitions
in our necessities,
but deliver us always
from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Amen

You are all beautiful Mary,
and there is not stain or original sin.

This obviously came from your heart. xo
This is the day we celebrate the reason for the season. I still find it hard to imagine a 16 year old virgin being told she is with child and what she would have to face with her family upon hearing the news. Courage beyond belief.

Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us . . .

I could have sworn I posted to your depiction of the Immaculate Conception, but I don't see my name here. She is lovely. Had a difficult sleeping night and when I finally fell asleep around 5 a.m., I totally missed church sleeping in. So, I honor Mary on her special day by visiting all of you instead.

I hope all is well with you now.
To this prayer, the only appropriate response is: Amen!
