Random 5 Friday: Some of My Favorites

Random Friday Five
1. My favorite mystery authors
are Faye Kellerman, Tess Gerritsen and Louise Penny.
I quiver with anticipation when I hear that a
new Gamache mystery will soon be published.
2. My favorite seasons are spring and autumn.
Spring- because of all the new life: flora and fauna.
Autumn- for the jewel-like colors of the turning leaves.
3.My favorite home interior colors
are blue and brown with a jolt of candy-apple red.
4.My favorite car color is red.
 5. A car I would have liked to own is an MG.

Here's my honey with his car.
This was  taken overseas while he was serving
in the US Air Force. By the time I met him
in 1957, he was driving a plain black
1957 Chevy.  Boo hoo!
So it could not be said that I fell for him
because of his sleek sports car!

Norma, that car is a 1954 or 55 MG TF, the last of the MG T series cars. While you don't see many of them today, many were imported to the U.S. so they are available if you really want one. For example here is an ad for a clean, well restored one: http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/mg/tf/1606462.html
At this price, you could show it or just drive it on warm, sunny days. Otherwise it is best kept in a dry garage.

Yes! Louise Penny and Inspector Gamache! My absolute favorite and I devour mysteries. She is such a good writer. I loved 'How the Light Got In' ... but don't know what to expect next. What do you think?

I'm with you on Autumn: I, too, love the colours. I also once had a small MG sports car but not a 'proper' old one like that.

I don't know what's next since that book ended on such a high note. I was glad that Beauvoir finally got help and married Annie.
My favorite seasons as well! Same reasons also :)

Fun random thoughts today. That photo is classic. There's still time for him to get another! Not with you on the mysteries, but I like the spring. I can join you on that.

Susan, my hubby died in 2006, but I still enjoy savoring photos of him.

I prefer Spring and Fall best too - Summer's far too washed out here in Spain!

A very Happy New Year to you and yours!

PS Love your blog too!

For some reason, I'm surprised to hear that summer is washed out in Spain. Happy New Year to you all

Pondering about My Blog

I've been through quite a bit these past months that I haven't posted.  First, packing and moving and then unpacking . The first step of unpacking was my taking down boxes that were five and six boxes high.  About two weeks after I’d moved and was in the midst of unpacking, I developed horrendous pain in my ribs. I slathered on my gel I use to alleviate Fibromyalgia pain. Realizing that even that was not helping. Trying to make a long story short- Asked for pain pills No help; asked for another kind Doctor wanted to see me Went in- he didn’t understand why I was still in pain Sent me to get x-rays Diagnosis: compressed fracture in my 9th vertebra Cause: osteporosis Now on meds for that I’ve discovered that anytime I overdo, pain comes back, not quite full-blown, but enough that I must stop doing whatever I’m doing. That includes sitting at my computer writing. I wanted to bring my friends up-to-date; I’m pondering whether I should stop blogging altogether o
