ABC Wednesday: Venturesome

Feeling venturesome
and hopeful, I chose to walk
the river greenway.

 Spotting the heron
near the banks of White River
I captured its flight!
 Skimming the river,
it rushes from my presence
leaving me breathless.

Isn't it exciting to see wild creatures in their habitat? We have lots of herons around here and I often see them with their feet in the water, but seldom in flight.

Indeed it is, Leslie! The is the first time I've been close enough to see one...and to capture it, albeit with my phone.

Always a treat to see a heron, such beautiful birds. Although the last time I saw one on a river I was so busy chasing it down with my camera that I forgot to take care of where my feet were going as I ran and ended up falling over. Oh to have wings!

Joy, that so could have happened to me. I had only my phone and the sun caused me unable to see on the screen, so I just pointed and took several pics in hopes of capturing that stunning bird!
