Haiku My Heart: Most Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary

 O, blessed Virgin,
most sanctified is your name,
rain blessings on us.

with pleasure,
I'm joining others
at Rebecca's

Today's entry in The Magnificat
recommends praying
The Litany of Our Lady.
Here it is from EWTN.com

This litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary was composed during the Middle Ages. The place of honor it now holds in the life of the Church is due to its faithful use at the shrine of the Holy House at Loreto. It was definitely approved by Sixtus V in 1587, and all other Marian litanies were suppressed, at least for public use. Its titles and invocations set before us Mary's exalted privileges, her holiness of life, her amiability and power, her motherly spirit and queenly majesty.
The principle that has been followed in their interpretation is the one enunciated by the same Pius IX: "God enriched her so wonderfully from the treasury of His divinity, far beyond all angels and saints with the abundance of all heavenly gifts, that she . . .should show forth such fullness of innocence and holiness, than which a greater under God is unthinkable and which, beside God, no one can even conceive in thought."
Hence, whatever virtue and holiness is found in angels and saints must be present in Mary in an immeasurably higher degree.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, hear us.

God the Son, Redeemer of the world,

Beautiful haiku. Even more beautiful litany. I'm printing this when I get home.
This prayer is like a poem, isn't it?

What a beautiful prayer, Nonnie. I've saved it to my desktop. I also found the Chaplet to St. Michael the Archangel today. They are now both saved.

The imagery of raining blessings is beautiful... and there is something so deep and fulfilling to recite words that have been said for hundreds, if not thousands of years...

A blessed rain that would be indeed!
Surely these prayers must be heard!

Pondering about My Blog

I've been through quite a bit these past months that I haven't posted.  First, packing and moving and then unpacking . The first step of unpacking was my taking down boxes that were five and six boxes high.  About two weeks after I’d moved and was in the midst of unpacking, I developed horrendous pain in my ribs. I slathered on my gel I use to alleviate Fibromyalgia pain. Realizing that even that was not helping. Trying to make a long story short- Asked for pain pills No help; asked for another kind Doctor wanted to see me Went in- he didn’t understand why I was still in pain Sent me to get x-rays Diagnosis: compressed fracture in my 9th vertebra Cause: osteporosis Now on meds for that I’ve discovered that anytime I overdo, pain comes back, not quite full-blown, but enough that I must stop doing whatever I’m doing. That includes sitting at my computer writing. I wanted to bring my friends up-to-date; I’m pondering whether I should stop blogging altogether o
