Beautiful tribute! I love the idea of Day of the Dead and wish it were more widely observed here.

Sallie, I learned about the Day of the Dead, when a parent of Mexican descent asked to celebrate it in my 1st grade class. (another year, we celebrated Chinese New Year for a parent of Chinese descent) So one Christmas when Hubby and I were in San Antonio, we went to a street market and I bought the D of the D altar. I now set one up in my home each November. I keep it up till November is over.
What a lovely altar. I love that you have adopted this custom!
