Nonnie's Photo A Day: On the Way to Bethlehem

 Joseph… with Mary,
who’s heavy with child and drained,
set for the Christ Child

I had forgotten about this photo,
but technically the Christmas season
is completed with tomorrow’s Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
The sculpture belongs to a friend.
I think it's one of the most beautiful renditions of
our Blessed Mother.

I find this statue very unusual and I like it very much. It isn't often that you see Mary so fully and heavily pregnant. I like the realism.
