NONNIE'S CARPE DIEM: Van Gogh's Starry Night

One starry night
to make that one painting-
the rustling leaves
~Chevrefeuille~

the stars bloom fiercely
battling to outshine the moon
yet quiet below

thank you, jzb! I wrote in my journal last night that I wasn't sure my haiku was any good, but that I enjoyed the process.
The fierceness is offset by the quietness in your haiku.

your haiku brings this famous skyline to life,

No doubt about it. This is probably my favorite Van Gogh painting and for all the reasons suggested by your brilliant haiku.

My mind is blown away with the wonderfully kind comments about my haiku. The painting and knowing Van Gogh's painful history spewed forth my haiku. Thank you so much to each of you taking the time to respond.
