The birch trees are slender and not to adorned with branches. Thus, they cast tall shadows that fall so nicely on the snowy canvas. The beauty of Winter can offset the very cold days we endure this winter...
Sometimes I think birch trees are even more beautiful when bare than when leafed out.

I do love a bare birch...especially with snow. Love this.
I always smile when I see your pic as a little girl...it takes me back to when I was little and wore my hair just like that....I gotta get my olden photos out and see if I can locate it.
