Nonnie's Vintage Photo of Maternal Grandfather

Grandfather stands still.
Following this, will he swim?
I want the story.

But there’s no one left
to share where, when this took place.
Snapshot found too late.

Oh, I have some photos like that, too. You wish you had a story to go with them, or even who the people are and what relation they are to you. I have one that I love of my husbands family. It is a group of people standing in front of an earth and log cabin. We are sure that it is a family photo and that the older woman in the photo was my husband's father's mother, but we are not even sure which boy is his dad. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes you wish you had the word, to go with it, right?

I have so many photos and questions about family and, like you, there's no one left to ask. Some of my olden photos have names and dates...some don't.
what a handsome man he was! He looks like he was quite the swimmer, his build is so athletic!

I agree. Sometimes a picture can be an enigma when you don´t konow for sure. An album that I am sure belonged to my father´s father there is a pictures of an old lady in the beginning. I think it can be his mother. And we recently think we solved a mystery with a picture from my father in law's negatives with an old lady on it. I thought is woul be his grandmother but it is probably her sister that came to be 100 years old. A good idea today is to make a photobook with pictures with accompanying text for future generations. Thank you for sharing the picture and I wish you a good weekend!
