CARPE DIEM TOKUBETSUDESU #47 flowers

Inspiration by Kobayashi Issa:
an old man’s world…
flowers of snow on bare trees
spring’s blossoms

ants feed on nectar
peony blossom unfurled

much love...
oh I love this. My mother puts grape jelly on her peonies to attract the ants which will, in turn, open the buds.

Love your haiku. For the first time I'm growing Peonies and I did notice ants everywhere. Facinating!

now you know the reason for the ants. the peony is Indiana's state flower.
A lovely post both your haiku and these interesting photos ... I enjoyed visiting here today ... Bastet
