CARPE DIEM MODERN TIMES HAIKU: Obituary

Inspiration from Peggy Willis Lyles (1939-2010)
mother’s scarf
slides from shoulder…
wild violets

gray morning
the weight of mist
in Spanish moss

inspired by Kristjaan:
between green leaves
a waterfall without sound
Spanish mosses fall

My haiku:
newspaper clipping
aged, fragile, fragmenting
dear loved one’s obit

Hoosier Quote:
“I myself will get an obituary in an Indianapolis paper when I die because I am related to people who used to own a chain of hardware store.”

moving write and lovely photos! I enjoyed the post very much!
There is great power in old newspaper clippings, power to evoke memories, both good and bad.

The day is coming (not too soon, I hope), when someone is going to be reading my obit, but it will probably be online rather than in a crumbling newspaper.

Locally, we have both print and online availability of obituaries- quite helpful when someone dies somewhere else.
