SEPIA SATURDAY: Bridge over the Wabash River

This photo was found online; I edited it to get the sepia effect.

This 1988 photo was taken by me when my cousin and I visited Vincennes, IN, to make our own "Roots" album of places that had deep meaning for us in our childhood.

There’s nothing wrong with a little ‘editing’ every now and then - in this case it really works.

It is great to have a personal history with the bridge you have posted. Nice Post.

It is wonderful to be able to go back to places of childhood with a friend or family.
Love bridges like this that have some sort of statue at either end. There's one here in Northern California that has bears on either side of the road that have been painted gold. It's always a treat to cross that bridge. Do you know what the statues are of on this one?

I know only what is on the Indiana side of the bridge. On the right pylon, facing Illinois, is Chief Tecumseh; on the left pylon is Tecumweh's brother "The Prophet" Tenskwatawa.

Love that sepiarised bridge view, and your Roots album isounds like an excellent idea that I might think about for myself, or at least try to gather photographs of all our old family locations and homes.

I posted a comment here yesterday. I wonder where it went.

It really is a fine looking bridge and the statue sets it off to perfection.

Pondering about My Blog

I've been through quite a bit these past months that I haven't posted.  First, packing and moving and then unpacking . The first step of unpacking was my taking down boxes that were five and six boxes high.  About two weeks after I’d moved and was in the midst of unpacking, I developed horrendous pain in my ribs. I slathered on my gel I use to alleviate Fibromyalgia pain. Realizing that even that was not helping. Trying to make a long story short- Asked for pain pills No help; asked for another kind Doctor wanted to see me Went in- he didn’t understand why I was still in pain Sent me to get x-rays Diagnosis: compressed fracture in my 9th vertebra Cause: osteporosis Now on meds for that I’ve discovered that anytime I overdo, pain comes back, not quite full-blown, but enough that I must stop doing whatever I’m doing. That includes sitting at my computer writing. I wanted to bring my friends up-to-date; I’m pondering whether I should stop blogging altogether o
