Squirrels here are brownish, greyish. I am always surprised to see photos of black ones!

Lea, most of our squirrels are brown and grey. The reason I spotted him was his unusual color.

Squirrels, Melody, are in abundance in this area.

Our squirrels have taken over our martin house and kicked all of the birds out. Not too happy about it.

Ann, I wouldn't be happy with that situation either. I finally found a bird feeder that is really squirrel-proof. It has to do with the weight of whoever is feeding. Squirrels are too heavy and the feed supply lid closes on them.
I've only seen a couple black squirrels, on a trip to a place just north of NYC. Most of them I see are gray.
